Throughout history, there have been several great people that have influenced the history of water usage.
Hippocrates (460-370 BC) First recommended that water should be boiled before consumption. (Picture 1) Ximen Bao (445-396 BC) is considered to be the first Chinese Hydraulic engineer. (Picture 2) Archimedes (287-212 BC) Pioneered Hydrostatics, the study of fluids at rest. (Picture 3) Ismali Al-Jazari (1136-1206) Invented the first valved suction pump. (Picture 4) Henry Cavendish (1731-1810) Synthesized water by reacting Hydrogen with Oxygen. (Picture 5) James Watt (1736-1819) Invented the steam engine. (Picture 6) Dr. John Snow (1813-1858) proved that cholera was a waterborne disease. Louis Pasteur (1827-1895) demonstrated the "germ theory" of disease.
